Who are we?
We are Courtney and Pablo.  I was born and raised in Texas and have a great love for
animals of all kinds. He grew up in Mexico City. I grew up raising and riding horses
and working for vets. If you were to ask my friends what's the first thing that comes
to mind when they think about me they would tell you my animals. I have about 30
children, with four legs or feathers that is, but none of mine own. I have two
step-daughters that are just a delight and help me raise all the little critters around
here. We joke and call our ranch Noah's Ark. Everything is two by two! We have
everything from sugar gliders to horses. Take a look at
Our Family.
My husband has always had a passion for exotic birds and
he opened my doors to the feathered friends. I started with
just an African Grey, Pookie. I enjoyed his company so much
I decided I wanted to get into breeding greys. I love babies,
but who doesn't! I end up wanting to keep every baby I raise but I know they are going to
loving homes. There is no greater satisfaction than to watch a bird grow under your care.
So, I started with a pair of Eclectus and Greys to make sure this is what I wanted to dedicate
myself too. I fell in love with the babies so much that I began to acquire different species of
avians. I have had a great mentor to guide me along the way. We now have several species
of avians ranging from Cockatoos to Caiques. I decided to keep the aviary small so I could
devote more attention to each little one comes through our nursery.

All of our babies are raised with tons of patience and love. I prefer for the parents to
incubate and feed the babies for the first two weeks if possible. If the parents will not sit
and feed then I pull the eggs and incubate and feed from day one. The amount of food
intake and babies weight is recorded each morning at the first feeding. The baby is then
inspected for any problems. They are exposed to cats, dogs, horses, other birds, children
and strangers. They are handled and played with everyday.  Pictures are taken once a
week of their growth for our records and so the owners can watch their new family
member grow. We encourage the new families to pick names for the babies so we can
begin calling them by their name and they may recognize it. DNA sexing is available upon
request at an additional charge. They are only sent to their new homes when fully weaned.
Each baby is weaned onto a complete pellet with fresh fruits and vegetables. When the
babies are old enough the kids like to get them out and let them walk around and give
them lots of love. Flight feathers are only trimmed after they have learned to fly and
maneuver around and land. This builds self confidence in the birds.
I also welcome any birds that need new homes due to the owners not being able to care
for them anymore. Check out our
Adoption and Rescue page.
My favorite part is loving on the
babies after feeding. Here I am with a
baby Grand Eclectus at 6 wks of age.
Mia is just fascinated with the
little ones and makes sure to
be extra careful when holding
them.

how to react to the babies.
